Om Martin A.

Martin Aguilera studied music at the “Juan José Castro” Conservatory of Buenos
Aires, Argentna. He studied piano under the tutelage of two prestigious pianists
from his country: Fanny Suárez and Lorena Eckel. At the same time he formed
himself as a guitarist, playing in the rock band "Efecto Doppler" and working in
different groups and musical actvites.
In additon to playing piano and guitar, Martin was always interested in how music
works in its different forms, so he also participated as a singer in choirs and as a
conductor, since he studied choral conducting under the teaching of one of the best
conductors from Argentina, and a world-renowned musician: Roberto Luvini, who
was the principal conductor of the Argentine National Polyphonic Choir.
Martin has worked as a teacher in music academies, in high school, kindergarten and
between 2016 and 2019 he was in charge of the music department in an Art-
therapeutic Center for people with different types of disabilities. After all these
experiences as a teacher, he is used to working with music in all kinds of
environments, with different requirements and he is able to adapt to the specific
needs of the student. Martin has a lot of experience working online. He has his own
YouTube channel, called “Taller de Música Online” (Online Music Workshop) with
more than 73,000 subscribers and constantly growing.
"For me it´s very important that you can understand how music works. You will learn
to play the instrument, but you will also learn why music is played and composed
the way it is. I like to teach theory and harmony, because with these tools you can
make your own music or arrangements and you can also get to know better the
music you play.
I can teach you Piano, Guitar and Music Theory (together with the instrument or
separately). With the instrument, you will learn and practice scales and chords not
only as exercises, but we will transform those exercises into part of a song.
We will work with an extensive repertoire that we can decide together, including
classical pieces and also rock and pop music".
Lessons can be in English or Spanish.
