What do our lessons look like?
My teaching focuses on the student’s specific needs, way and pace of learning. Emphasis is given on building a consistent and productive practice routine, through which the student sharpens their ability to self-monitor their progress. Our lesson will be a safe space where students can openly provide feedback and shape the flow of the learning process.
Through my teaching experience I have found and would recommend that one weekly session of 60 minutes is the most effective for adult learners, while younger students might benefit more from shorter sessions of 45 minutes. The weekly frequency gives pace to the learning and provides the student with enough time to process new information and practice. These are only general guidelines. In case a student has different needs, the lesson content will be adapted accordingly. What I will continuously emphasize is the importance of consistent practice. I encourage the students to practice frequently (ideally on a daily basis) even for short time periods, rather than to have infrequent long practice sessions.
Our first free meeting will involve getting to know each other. I will be interested in learning about the student’s previous experiences with the instrument (if any), any other experiences related to music and what they hope to find through our lessons.

Who am I?
In 2023 I graduated from the Department of Music Studies of the University of Ioannina (Greece) with a teaching certificate and a specialisation in the kanun (taught by Apostolos Tsardakas) and have been teaching as a music tutor since. Ι have been singing from a very young age as part of a children’s choir and started a conscious exploration of my voice’s abilities in 2016 through various courses and seminars with the most recent and ground-breaking one being a three-year study period with my teacher Grigorios Pyrialakos. My introduction to the world of eastern makam modality came in 2015 through private lessons with professor Nikos Andrikos and continued all through my academic studies and further performance practice. All through my school years I practiced the piano with my teacher Giorgos Trichopoulos.
My performing experience stretches back more than ten years ago and I have been performing as a professional musician since 2022. I have also worked as a biologist, science communicator, translator, editor and tutor of English. I am currently a collaborator of Paidokipos Bør...
