Om Haukur Karlsson
Hey! My name is Haukur Karlsson and I'm a Film Composer & Music Producer, with Grammy nominated credits and millions of streams on my productions. I'd love to have a chat with you!
My teaching combines creativity, discipline, and enjoyment. I aim to create a motivating and supportive environment where students can build confidence, improve technical skills, and explore their musical interests. Whether you want to learn new techniques, explore different genres, or compose your own music, I tailor lessons to suit your individual goals. My specialties include orchestral music, film scoring, pop, and electronic production, with a focus on practical tools like DAWs and orchestral mock-ups.
Before the first lesson, I always arrange a call to discuss your goals and interests, ensuring we’re aligned and giving you the opportunity to decide whether to proceed. For the best results, I recommend regular lessons—weekly or bi-weekly—and access to your own music software. Longer-term learning often allows for the most growth and creativity, but I’m flexible to your needs.
The process starts with a call to understand your interests, experience, and goals. This helps me prepare a personalized approach to the lessons. During the first session, we explore your strengths and areas for improvement through exercises or materials tailored to your preferences. Together, we create a plan that balances skill-building and creative exploration.
Lessons take place online. If you don’t have access to an instrument or music software, I’m happy to guide you in finding the right tools to get started.

My professional background:
I hold a Master’s degree in Composition for Screen from the Royal College of Music, London, where I graduated with distinction, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production from Rhythmic Music Conservatory, Copenhagen. My professional work includes composing and producing music for projects like God of War: Ragnarök and internationally aired TV shows, as well as...
