Om Frédéric C.
His ten years of experience as a piano teacher, both privately and in music schools in France, with students of all levels and ages have helped Frédéric develop pedagogical skills that allow him to tailor his lessons to each student's needs. His main aim is to ensure his students have fun while developing their skills to the best of their ability.
Students learn through the kind of music and songs they love, which Frédéric often transcribes, adapting them to their level. He can also provide materials to the ones who don’t have a precise idea of what they would like to play.
During the lessons, the emphasis is put on:
-The pleasure to learn through chosen pieces (from any music genre).
-The understanding of the instrument and its functions.
-The necessary tools to build autonomy as a musician (tempo, rhythm, scales, fingering...).
-Theoretical and aural training based on the chosen music pieces.
-Learning how to read (music sheets and/or chords) as well as reproducing by ear.
-Improvisation and/or composition if desired.
As a teacher, Frédéric is committed to his own professional development, and strives to grow both as an educator and a musician. For this reason, he consciously combines piano teaching, music studies and live performances. His background studies are in classical music, but his personal interests as a musician include composition and improvisation through exploration of diverse genres. Frédéric holds a diploma in classical music studies and he has come to Copenhagen to pursue further studies in music composition.
Apart from his substantial experience and formal qualifications, there is one more factor that makes Frédéric an outstanding teacher: his passion and enthusiasm for teaching. He has witnessed that learners reciprocate this dedication and emotional investment. His past and present students have enjoyed an encouraging learning environment, which provides structure as well as the freedom to express themselves. This is precisely what he wishes to bring to all his new students in Copenhagen.
